Three kinds of Drones

 1st Kind: ‘Angel Drones’

Drones in the sky, drones in the sky
Bring internet to people -far and wide
Set'em free to ‘click’ and ‘share’ and ‘like’
If angels could fly, they’d be drones in the sky.

Drones in the sky, over places that don’t
even have a power grid, never mind
laptops and tablets; where their wells run dry
Where the hunger makes new-born babies cry.

But with drones in the sky, ‘WiFi’ flies

Facebook and google want drones in the sky

They'll bring ‘YouTube’ where people need just plain food

They’d sell them ‘Netflix’ if they only could

Drones in the sky, means friends in the sky

Sub-Saharan towns will have ‘LinkedIn’ and ‘Skype’

Put your town on the map, find a date with our app

For the payment: ‘Pay-pal’ or ‘Bitcoin’ is fine.

Drones can deliver you shit from the sky

‘Amazon’ can ship to the Amazon now

‘Tweet’ from your jungle ‘cause now you know why

Your rainforest looks so dry form up high.

2nd Kind: ‘Peeping-Tom Drones’

Drones in the sky, are pervs in the sky

They data-mine your every crime

What you post, what you share, what you like, who you ‘tag’

Live under their microscope ‘til you die.

Drones that map your home from the sky

Can’t even sunbathe naked outside

neighbours will know where you tan-line lies

By-the-way, ‘Google maps’ says ‘Hi’

 3rd Kind: ‘Drones from Hell’

Drones in the sky, bombs that fly

The CIA has drones in the sky

They’ve got a shopping-list terrorist ‘kill-list’

It’s World War 3, one ‘click’ at a time.

Drones in the sky, the end is nigh

The president has bombs that can fly;

It’s like ‘9/11’ one civilian at a time

‘cause those lives ain’t worth less than mine.

To use the excuse that they want to produce

They need us to think we need drones in the sky

2/3 of the world is not even on-line

And maybe if sent a ‘friend request’, they’d decline.

Humanity comes before connectivity

Children’s lives before military activity

Damn your drones and your bombs and your bloody list

not every brown-skinned man is a terrorist.

And shove your drones up high.
