Out There

Death in youth is the worst thing in life.

Shadows, night falls

Like a wounded lamb.

Young blood, runs cold

Tides that rush the land.

Someone looks out the window in the dark,

Out there, is there anyone who knows?

Sister moon, her love blooms under your light; tonight.

Blue light, did you come into my room?

Sleepwalk, and I woke clawing at your name…

Sleeptalk you call me from far above;

Out there, is where an angel shouldn’t go.

Sister moon, her love blooms under your light; tonight.

Out there is where, I wish you well.

Out there is where, you and I die.

Crazy

You’re eyes are closed but I know you can see in the night,

When there is no light that can shine and the outshine God’s favourite star;

Start to realise that your eyes have just opened and now stare at mine,

I can see that the light’s in your eyes heart then the shining is mine, all mine.

Crazy but I understand.

Your lips are still like shield left afield in the still of the quiet night

And the silence is smiling a savouring smile;

One of love and warmth like the kind in your touch when your lips are on mine,

And a whisper unfolds from the sight then the silence is mine, or thine.

Crazy but I understand.

And it’s all because of you:

That I’ll sing ‘till the break of the day, for you;

And I’ll sing ‘till the end of the world for you.

Years have gone by and the danger of dying young’s gone

A long time ago, somehow we never made it whatever that meant

But I won’t forget what you taught me by always living for yourself

As today I’m alive and I live only for those I love; and love life.

Crazy but I understand.

Do you know what I mean?

La Verdadera Revolución

Please scroll down for English version

La verdadera revolución, es la que pasa en el corazón.

Porque ya no hay tiempo y ya no hay razón,

La historia se recita a si misma

Como una oración.

La verdadera revolución, es la que pasa en el corazón

Y el pueblo ya no teme otra invasión;

Soy yo.’

Como un corazón partido en millones,

Nosotros mismos somos revoluciones.

Que se luchan con solo fijar la mirada;

Que se escuchan sin tener que decir nada.

La verdadera revolución, es la que pasa en el corazón;

Y es aquella que regalamos al mundo,

A través de la migración.

Pues quien la lleva dentro;

Nunca dejó su nación.

A true revolution happens in the heart,

because time has ended and reason stopped;

now history recites itself

like a prayer.

A true revolution happens in the heart.

the people fear invasion no more

‘cause they have shown the enemy

that borders may be re-drawn,

but only the people are the nation.

The true revolution happens in the heart

because our loved land

cries out through her thousand wounds:

‘Wherever you go, I’ll be there…

…in that brief spark in the eyes of a child;

in that flash of sunlight on the blade of an angel up high;

I’ll be there.

One heart shattered into millions

we ourselves are revolutions

fought by merely fixing gazes,

spoken without words or phrases.

A true revolution happens in the heart,

and it is that which we gift the world

through our migration

because he or she who carries it inside

will never leave their nation.

Beauty in the Beast

Beauty in the Beast

Are they tiger-moth’s wings or predator’s eyes?

Or even things in the mouth of a tiger in disguise?

Either way, can't hide the beauty in the beast.

For what was a ‘kill’ became ‘game’ and then got bar-coded and inhumane

And now it’s plastic-packed into 20-foot long freezer frames.

Until it’s hard to find the beauty in the beast.

Who hunts whom now? The question is

Now that man is not just the hunter king of all beasts,

But also the farmer of his own species?

Is there -after all this evolution- no compassion solution?

But rather exploitation packed into shopping cart illusion?

Let’s try to find the beauty in the beast.

‘Cause one day our demise could be marked by the sound of fluttering wings

And the buzzing of bees sharpening their stings

Taking flight from dark corners to multiply in the sun

as they once did long ago, before we had ever begun

To exist… like the beauty in the beast.

MH 370: Looking for Malice in the Absence of Answers?

In a post 911 world, it is certainly understandable that the spectre of aircraft hijacking will taint any airliner disappearance mystery; and it certainly seems like the media’s coverage of the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 seems to periodically revisit the suggestion that the plane must have been either hijacked or sabotaged by someone.
As a pilot however, it bothers me that the ‘hijacking theory’ has -to some degree- centred on the 2 pilots; as is particularly the case on 24hr news channels on the mainstream media.
These media outlets seem very interested in blowing certain things out of all proportion such as any personal information they can obtain on the 2 pilots: Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah and First Officer Fariq Abdul Hamid.
In the absence of answers, they seem to be hoping that analysing the lives of these 2 men can suddenly explain something as shockingly complex and meaningful as the disappearance of a modern long-haul aircraft.
The conspiracy theory centred on the 2 stolen passports used by the Iranian teenagers on board lead to nothing; and what a big deal that was made into at the time...
I would even suggest that the MSM would not have this level of interest in the pilots’ personal lives and potential for past misdemeanours if the pilots involved were not natives of a predominantly Muslim country.
So what are they 'revealing'? That the FO smoked in the cockpit and invited Australian girls into the cockpit to show off; and that the captain owned a flight simulator and had his own Youtube channel… nothing too sinister so far; and the 24hr news networks must be disappointed.
What I’m saying is this: Let’s not get distracted from the fact that 239 people are missing. They all have families who love them, they themselves love their own families and friends –Several of those passengers are children- this is a terrible thing that is happening...
...and the pilots are 2 of those missing people.
It seems to me much more likely that the pilots were faced with a depressurization than a  hijacking. Maybe the pilots were faced with a sudden depressurization which partially or fully incapacitated them both, or an insidious one where even the warning systems were ineffective for some reason.

Maybe they made a mistake; maybe they didn’t.
Maybe they were faced with a situation which is unimaginable to the rest of us just sitting at home.
Perhaps it is easier for the MSM to report on how someone ‘may have done something’ rather than reflect on the reality that in spite of all the technology available, a huge aircraft with 239 people on board can disappear for well over a week -so far.
To face the implications of this would mean to accept that the power structures which we trust, have less proficiency and capability than we thought they did.
To accept this would mean that the next time we get on a long-haul flight, we all could be quite literally flying into the unknown; truly putting our lives in the hands of those men and women in the cockpit, which we call pilots.

All I’m saying is: let them be innocent until proven guilty.
I'm off to see if I can do something helpful rather than look at the appalling 24hr news MSM coverage.
See you there?

Angel

Angel

I, and all the tears I cry
Are waiting all the time
To be by your side;

Aeons, and all that’s in between
Wondering where I’ve been
I’m running with the wind
To you.

It was only last night,
A beautiful bright light
A flower of love so free;

A beautiful urchin,
A life-loving infant
A beautiful love song weep.

I never knew that I was so bitter
But when you live it’s not easy to believe
And all the time’s but a little whisper
I never knew that we could have been so free.
So free.

My wings for my angel.
